Latin Jazz in the Big Band Era

October 15, 2026 • 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

DOORS 6:00 pm  •  18+ (Under 18 allowed with parent or guardian)

Buffalo Rose is thrilled to present a very special evening of Latin Jazz with the Flatirons Jazz Orchestra on Thursday, October 15th — a night of rhythm, color, and pure musical magic featuring one of Colorado’s truly great jazz orchestras.

Through stories and music, we’ll explore how the sacred rhythms of West Africa traveled from Cuba, Puerto Rico and Brazil and worked their way into Big Band Jazz, forever changing American music.

The Flatirons Jazz Orchestra brings the irresistible sounds of mambo, cha-cha, bossa nova, and Afro-Cuban swing to the Buffalo Rose stage. These are the rhythms that set Havana on fire in the 1950s — the sound of Tito Puente, Pérez Prado, and Dizzy Gillespie — reimagined by one of Colorado’s finest jazz ensembles.

To complete the experience, Buffalo Rose will be featuring special Cuban-inspired food and drink specials throughout the evening — mojitos, Cuban sandwiches, maduros and more — transporting you straight to the streets of Old Havana for one unforgettable night in Golden.

Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or simply a lover of great music and great food, Latin Jazz Night is a one-of-a-kind event you won’t want to miss. Ritmo. Armonía. Alegría.

Tickets are $30 day of or at the door (includes booking fee; pay cash and save the $5 fee)  or only $25 (inclusive) when you book in advance online. Save an additional $5 off each ticket by using the Coupon Code “Dance Club“. Look for “Have a coupon code?” just above the total at checkout.
